COVID-19/Social Media: Things are Changing

So, it’s very clear that we have been hit with something that has been bigger than past viruses we have dealt with. People are becoming very ill and unfortunately dying. It’s still mind boggling that we’re living in history. Just think about it on the next DBQ (Document Based Question) for high school students “Write an essay about the significant economic effects that COVID-19 had on the whole world in 2020. Make sure you use facts from the texts and personal experience from that time frame”. Cool but scary because we are the ones who are currently living in it! So, in times like, we’re are all order by the U.S government to stay indoors and practice “social distancing” but it just doesn’t seem like anyone is listening because this virus is spreading bigger by the day! I don’t know about other people, but I want me and my family to live because death is just not an option yet, I’m just too young, and I love my parents! The bright side is that everyone is safe. Going through something like this however can lead to some psychological harm. Why you may ask. Well because I’m stuck home…Doesn’t sound too bad? Let me explain.

She actually is pretty cool

Look at the bright side.

For me this home quarantine thing has been a drag only because i hate staying home! However, I did find out some really cool things about my fellow loved ones. My mom favorite color is red and purple, and my dad has a thing for avocados… oh and my girlfriend is pretty cool. Other than that, social media has been active lately because simply we have nothing else more to do. Social media is our entertainment. Using mobile apps like Facebook, Instagram, and twitter. However, Tik Tok has been the app taking over during this whole pandemic. I have to honestly say, Tik Tok is the only reason why we haven’t went fully insane…yet. Getting away from Tik Tok, social media has been so serious lately due to the virus. Every time I refresh my twitter it’s just nonstop Coronavirus (COVID-19). It’s clear this thing is getting pretty serious but it’s so depressing. Every social media platform has become Fox News of what’s going on with the virus. I’m just hoping that this will end soon.

Starting Over?

This pandemic has affected everyone all over the world. Maybe this is a good thing. We have a lot of time to spend time with our loved ones and build bonds with one another in this tough time that our world is going through. Times like this we need each other to just know that everything is going to be alright and we will get through this time of crisis! There is violence around the world, we all can agree on that, but does it have to be that way? The shootings, assaults, and insults that we all give to one another has been the norm around this world. It’s time for change, hopefully when all this is over, we can understand that there is always an alternative to our actions.
