Who we are?

We are a small gaming organization called “Gaming University” that helps individuals of all ages achieve their goal in one day becoming Game Developers/ Game Programmers of the future. The game industry is increasing every day, with different ideas from all over the world of what could be the next big thing in today’s gaming world. That’s what we cherish, as we are welcoming all high school graduates (and college grads) a clear road into the world of gaming. Our faculty and staff all have 8+ years in computer programming, game design, computer graphics, and application development. All having exposure working in gaming businesses like Ubisoft, Unity Technologies, Activision, and EA Sports. We make sure that every new student learns the hands-on and verbal skills to produce the up-to-date gaming software of today step-by-step. There is a no-man (and woman) left behind policy that we consider, which means if we are all not on the same track, the ship will sink. We make sure that all students understand dense concepts and explain them fluently as if they are just spelling their names. It’s not an easy road, but it is a rewarding one as after all students complete the 6 months at our University, all students receive a job working with the best of today’s best gaming companies! We are the future. We are one. We are Gaming University. Fill out an application, and a recruiter will be in touch with you shortly afterward. Come find out your truest potential!

Requirements and expectations(Relax.. no placement test)

Our requirements are simple. Be willing to learn and grow through the process. We give you all the tools necessary, including a school iPad for your design work (and note-taking). Every student gets a MacBook computer for in-class work (including coding, lectures, and software work). We also serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all students that have morning classes all the way down to night classes (the last class is 8:30pm). We are a University that doesn’t believe in the concept of “testing” our students’ capability and finding out who stands out from one another. We stand by the principle of all learning at the same pace and all succeeding together. Game Development can come highly advance for many, so this is why we have our “small-classroom learning system.” Each class will have approximately 8 students in each class. The benefit of this is to not make students feel overwhelmed and lost in some of the lectures and hands-on work. Each student will have a 1-on-1 with the professor at any given time (as well as office hours).

Our grading system (no test, just projects)

In the gaming industry, group work is crucial. Everyone has to be on the same page because in this industry, teamwork makes the dream work. Students will be based on how well they work with others and the comradery established in the classroom. As young adults, understanding that you’re not going to like everyone, and some others may not like you, but putting feelings aside and executing the task at hand really shows one maturity. That’s what we are looking for. There will be times were your colleague may be struggling with the task at hand. Are you the type of teammate who will bring his partner down and fuss about how he/she isn’t picking up the slack, or are you going to give your partner a helping hand and fight through the problem together and pick each other up? We’re looking for that positive attitude in all our students.
